After years or waiting in limbo, the movie musical “Romance & Cigarettes,” written and directed by John Turturro, will be released on September 7, 2007
Due to the corporate merger between MGM and Sony Pictures, the release of the movie in the United States has been held up two years. It debuted in 2005 at the Toronto and Venice Film Festivals and has been seen in several foreign movie theaters. Now it will finally make its official debut at New York’s Film Forum.
The story is centers around infidelity and the repurcussions of adultery. The movie, set in Queens, features a starry, ensemble cast including James Gandolfini and Susan Sarandon as a married couple, Nick and Kitty Murder, with Kate Winslet as Nick’s hot mistress Tula.
The cast also includes Steve Buscemi, Christopher Walken, Mandy Moore, Mary-Louise Parker, Bobby Cannavale and many more notables, including Turturro himself.
